8. Supervisory Authority in Sweden

Sweden has implemented Directive (EU) 2019/882 – European Accessibility Act through the national Act (2023:254) on the Accessibility of Certain Products and Services.

Market surveillance and supervision of the application of this Act for digital products and services, including websites, are carried out by several Swedish authorities within their respective areas of responsibility. For digital services directed at consumers, the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (Post- och telestyrelsen, PTS) is a key supervisory authority responsible for market control under the Act and may request information or require corrective measures where deficiencies are identified.
